Everyone wins with a Bingo Night Fundraiser!

Looking to hit your fundraising target for Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland - then how about hosting a bingo night. Bingo in various shapes or forms is popular all around the world. It’s a really sociable game, lots of fun and easy to organise. That's what makes it such a great fundraiser!

We provide everything you need - free of charge

Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland has all the equipment needed to help you run a successful night. We can provide:

  • bingo tickets
  • bingo daubers
  • electronic bingo machine
  • bingo posters
  • bingo t-shirts for volunteers
  • promotional giveaways
  • We can supply a bingo caller to make sure everything runs smoothly on the night.

You just need to find a venue and get the word out.

What kind of venue do I need?

The venue needs to be large enough to hold the amount of people you are expecting. Large bars in particular are a good bet. They usually have a good PA system in place, can comfortably seat everyone and you should be able to get the space free of charge, particularly on quieter midweek nights.

For larger events you might want to look at a hotel or conference venue. Again you might be able to get this rent free. It all depends on your powers of persuasion.

Do I need a licence to hold a bingo night?

The short answer is yes you do, but we’ve got that covered for you. As all the profits from the night will be going to us, your bingo night will fall under our District Court lottery licence which is valid anywhere within the State. We can supply you with a copy of the licence as it’s sometimes needed to book a venue.

How much money can I raise?

That really depends on how many people turn up and what expenses you have. If you use our bingo service you will only have the cost of hiring the room, if it hasn't been sponsored! (hint)

With a turnout of at least 100 people then you should easily achieve €600-€700 from your event on the night. If you add a raffle or prize draw, or get a sponsored jackpot or Grand Prize, then you could raise over €1,000 or more.

How do I get people to turn up?

Get the word out using every means that you can think of. Social media is great for this.

  • Share the event with friends and family on Facebook, Twitter etc.
  • Don’t forget to put up a few posters in your locality.
  • Tell everyone you know, and get them to tell everyone they know.

How does the Jackpot or Grand Prize work?

For a Grand Prize or Jackpot round you will need someone to stake the prize or the cash. This is usually a good opportunity for sponsorship!! The jackpot is offered on the last game of the night with the winner being the person who calls house on 45 numbers or less.

What do I do now?
